The parents’ easy acceptance didn’t ring true, no parents would have been ok with this without some push back and possible anger/worry/disappointment whatever. So though this book is definitely not for everyone, I would recommend it to those seeking a heavy, taboo filled read. There’s also a smattering of pretty negative commentary about women (“they’re catty bitches, most women are mean to each other and that’s why Mia doesn’t have women friends”) a weird comment about “skinny shaming” and after what felt like (to me, I could be wrong) a shallow dive into Garret’s depression, the reader is informed that Garret is ready to have a baby w/ Mia bc he’s been on antidepressants x therapy for a year, and also spent that year proving “that he had everything under control” which feels like not a great metric to measure mental health?

I’m fine with reading anything and everything, and not a lot makes me squirm, but stepfamily relations make me squirm. He has been silently dealing with depression and although he was the fun guy, the people person, inside he felt alone. And also the existence of queer men isn’t “crazy”🙄 added to the fact that earlier when he finds out Drake is also attracted to men his response is a wide eyed, shocked thought “well you learn something new every day” just rubbed me the wrong way. Why is this trying to masquarade as something more when if you remove the sex there's absolutely nothing left? He is a bit more reticent (as he should be since he's the older one) but it's still very much like a trope checklist, not something that gets dwelled on much.

Garrett has always been a voyeur so it comes as no surprise that when he’s feeling a little lonely and sunk a few beers he decides to download a camgirl app, intending to watch. If you’re running a sex club that is queer inclusive (which is explicitly stated multiple times in book one! They decided to wait before having kids for at least a year because Garrett knew he needed to work on his mental health. She is everything I want in a FMC just the right balance between confident and a little unsure when in new territory.Living in Arizona with her husband and kids, Sara spends most of her time reading, writing, or baking. Even though he knows it’s a bad idea there’s no talking himself out of hitting the ‘request private room’ button, and it’s from this night on that everything changes. He can't stop himself from talking to her through a private chat and now he is too curious to make it a one-time thing. Also, the heroine claiming to be in love with stepbrother before the events of the books started taking place was one bit I didn't like too much.

He loves to watch and now he’s hooked and see if it’s just a faze or he really has some type of feelings for her. Eyes On Me (such a catchy name) tells Garret's story and how he suddenly finds out his stepsister Mia is a cam girl. Most people maybe wouldn’t be tripped up by these inconsistencies, but I have a close family member who has BPD and it kind of felt like they were downplaying how severe this illness truly is.Mia has been in love with Garrett since she knew what love was, and she’s always assumed he hates her but little did she know all he’s been doing is protecting her from seeing his darkness. Voyeur/exhibitionist kink mixed with step-sibling taboo, and all the fun times and characters that come along with the SPC. Because it's real, mental health issues never truly go away and I love seeing Mia help him and acknowledge that everyday isn't sunshine and rainbows but they still love and support each other despite it.

on the one hand he was 21 and not really living with her when they became family (so not really having a sibling relationship), but on the other hand, he's known her since she was a preteen. Like, these are not things someone says about a partner whose work and autonomy they respect👀 especially if he owns a fucking sex club!

And also 2) kink requires trust, so like not surprising people aren’t down for public sex right out of the gate. In the last two weeks, my stepsister has gone from being the pesky little girl I watched grow up into the only person on the earth that I want to see when I open my eyes in the morning. This book delves into some deeper themes involving mental health, and I absolutely adored how Cate handled this subplot. He would not have been on antidepressants if he had bpd, he’s be on lithium because antidepressants do not work on BPD. As one of the owners of the Salacious Players' Club, he's comfortable on the sidelines and has always felt that he works best alone.
