In the very late base, the sweetness of the fragrance decreases, so that the woods can be perceived a little better. Everything else remains as before, but I have the feeling that I can still perceive a slightly acidic oud note in the very late base. Yes yes, terms and meanings are strange things, aren't they? I call myself here Don Juan De Cat. And "Don" is a Spanish term for "gentleman", but who would have thought that "don" in Turkish derogatory stands for trousers or even underpants? :DD And no, I didn't intentionally name myself as underpants, even if some of you would certainly think so of me, argh! :D

Performance is good, certainly not in the vicinity of the beasts of the Private Blend line but nonetheless strong on projection for a few hours before mellowing out but still overall having very good longevity on skin. I'll pay double to make up for those who say they won't buy Tom Ford anymore. He has my respect, not for the kitschy names or stunts, but for his ability to sublimate something so subjective as fragrance with a couple choice words. Again Tonka Beans are an essential note in the original composition. It helps the Almond to remain with its richness in the dry down. The Amber is the oriental note for the warm sweetness to complement the Leather and bring on the powdery effect.

How We Picked the Tom Ford Fabulous Dupe 

Even the base notes contain the same ingredients as the original. Each note helps the Leather not overpower the scent and make it bitter and masculine. The Amber keeps the aura sweet and lasting. The Cashmeran lifts the Amber scent and enhances the woody nuance. The Lavender, the Almond, and of course, the Leather - all main notes are present. It maintains its unisex approach with the floral touch and masculine Leather. The Almond gives it a bitter-sweet, creamy, and powdery texture. The rather dominant, sharp/sweet blend of tonka and almond is modified by a touch of leather, relatively dirty and almost spicy clary sage, and a hint of orris, keeping some powderiness beyond the tonka and almond alone.

Beautifully constructed perfumery in my opinion, it speaks to my soul. I don't really care about the name and bottle design, to be very honest. The thing I don't understand is pricing policy of Estée Lauder, this is horrible. Perfumery here is very nice, as I said. Multifaceted, sweet, fresh slightly dirty, quite complex, very clever manipulation with raw materials. Definitely not a French style of building a perfume. Lets see what the outcome of this post will be.....a lot of balloons....OK...I DO like balloons.....or if it will be removed.....:-)
