Hoover’s decision to retell a story she’s already told was undoubtedly a risk, but it certainly was one worth taking. Only through the poetry they share are they able to speak the truth that is in their hearts and imagine a future where love is cause for celebration, not regret. Holder admits that they were all neighbors 13 years ago in Austin, that her name then was Hope, and that Les gave Sky the bracelet because Sky always seemed so unhappy.
