It’s Peter” went on the spirit, still talking to the dentist. “Tell Mother, please, I’m not dead. She is worrying; tell her not to. Tell her I’m all right”. He repeated that he like the enlargement, as though that message had some significance, and added” At first, as you know, I was very sceptical, and still am much bewildered but must admit a feeling of serenity and comfort after your visit, which I have not experienced during many recent weeks. The recording of the entire seance in which Ellen Terry spoke was sent to an old friend of Ellen Terry's who was still alive. After listening to the recording, the woman responded by writing, "I am satisfied that it is the voice of the friend I knew so well, Ellen Terry. She pronounces her words exactly as she did when I knew her." Speaking quietly, Robert gives advice to Brian and tells everyone how our beloved animals survive in the spirit world. Leslie Flint’s development as a physical medium was not smooth. In his autobiography, Voices in the D ark: My Life as a Medium, Flint, who grew up in poverty in England during World W I, describes how he unexpectedly and naively developed his powers as a physical medium. He tells his story in an extremely humorous fashion. There are not many books that I have read that have made me laugh out loud, but this is one of them.

My experience with Mr. Flint is first hand; I have heard the independent voices. Furthermore, modern investigation techniques not available in earlier tests corroborate previous conclusions by indicating that the voices are not his. But to be thorough, one should consider the possibility of live accomplices. This suggestion became untenable for me during his visit to New York in September 1970, when, in an impromptu séance in my apartment, the same voices not only appeared but took part in conversations with the guests. Next, Ms. Johnson came out of trance and spoke in her own, natural, pleasant feminine voice. She told a woman in the audience that her deceased husband was standing next to her and that he wanted to convey that he no longer had the terrible pain in his chest that occurred just before he passed away. Ms. Johnson gave a detailed description of this woman’s husband, which the woman indicated was accurate.

I regard the existence of discarnate spirits as scientifically proved and I no longer refer to the skeptic as having any right to speak on the subject. Any man who does not accept the existence of discarnate spirits and the proof of it is either ignorant or a moral coward. I give him short shrift, and do not propose any longer to argue with him on the supposition that he knows anything about the subject. I understand I've taken a bold step in the uploading of these recordings because they are not my recordings at all, they belong to humanity. However, suffering humanity seriously needs to listen to all of them ASAP to help them awaken into a vaster paradigm of thinking beyond the highly materialistic, dogmatic, conflicting, confusing, and physically limited concepts of life too often taken for granted. Our world, so full of conflicts, wars, ecological and natural disasters, injustice, racism, bigotry, fears (of death) and all manner of other sufferings caused by so much darkness and incorrect thinking, desperately needs to listen to these tapes. The photograph depicting the ectoplasm "voice-box" on the shoulder of Flint looked like it was made from cheesecloth and Mary Roach humorously described it as the "aftermath of a cafeteria food fight". [13]

Then Kite materialised - there have been attempts at materialisation for several weeks at this series of Monday sittings, which are of an experimental nature - and advanced towards one of the sitters, a man named Turner. The spirit touched Turner’s knees and took hold of his arm, as if trying to shake him. When taking part in séances with Flint, participants would report hearing the voices of the dead surrounding them in the room. [8] Flint would perform bound and gagged in an attempt to prove that he was not throwing his voice. [8] [9] He claimed that he was able to conjure ectoplasm from which he could then reconstruct vocal cords. [9] However, Flint always insisted on performing in the dark, so séance-goers were unable to see him during the performances. [3] He would sometimes even perform in a cupboard. [3] Grant, John. (2015). Spooky Science: Debunking the Pseudoscience of the Afterlife. Sterling Publishing. p. 45. ISBN 978-1-4549-1654-3 As much of the world sinks into a morass of materialism, commercialism and tribalism, it is now more important than ever that mankind learns to appreciate the spirit world's reality, of survival of the soul, of the vital importance of good deeds and good thoughts to prepare the way ahead, and that, whatever our colour or creed, we are all spiritual beings expressed in physical terms. Later, when Ms. Cook saw me to the front door to bid me good night it was no surprise to me that she said, quite kindly, under the circumstances, ‘I really think, dear, you are still too young and perhaps too excitable to continue your development at present. It would be best if you didn’t come here again.’ She opened the door and I saw it was raining heavily outside…

The medium was tested hundreds of times using all manner of controls and never once was found to have produced the voices or had any collaborator produce the voices. Barrymore is best known for his role as the nasty banker, Mr. Potter, in the classic movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, whose star was Jimmy Stewart.
