When mixed with our Beyond Liquid highlighter, you can create a sheer dewy canvas ready for the rest of your make-up routine. I could probably find one if I really scavenged but would prefer to use a blush I can easily repurchase. The Sacred Hour Collection is inspired by two important parts to the day; the sacred hours of dawn and dusk. I had an incredible chat with Alex Box (Illamasqua’s Creative Director and a personal hero of mine) about the range, and we ended up discussing the notions of ideal beauty, and what it is.

I love the idea of wearing a lipstick which looks like I’ve just had a passionate snog round the back of the building (so naughty) and this lippie does just this. I have been loving this blush all summer, but looking at this dusky rose shade, it really is perfect to carry in to autumn, or any time of year, really. When I bought it, it ticked all the boxes; solid review from Temptalia, swatched well, and I didn’t have anything like it in my collection.

Mix Skin Base Foundation with Beyond Liquid onto the back of your hand, adjusting the measures depending on the level of coverage you wish. To add a shot of radiance to your cheeks, mix equal parts of Beyond Liquid Highlighter with Colour Veil onto the back of your hand and then blend onto the apples of cheeks with a fluffy brush.

The powder makeup can be applied lightly for a subtle look, or intensely for a dramatic and daring finish. In fact, the blue-toned, milky pink color is actually quite bright and can look too doll-like if applied with a heavy hand. For areas which need extra coverage, simply apply a small amount of undiluted Skin Base directly to the area to ensure an even toned skin. I bought the blusher in Lover over 10 years ago in Melbourne, Australia to meet Kelly Cutrone and have used it ever since.Not only is the makeup very obviously beautiful, but there is always some fantastic meaning and conceptual idea behind the range, which I love to lap up. Perhaps this is because I think pinks flatter my skintone more — but, regardless, I’ve found a new pink-favorite. Katie is very matte and a little on the chalky side, whereas Nude Pink is very blendable but more blue-toned with a brighter finish. Firstly, I’m going to talk about Shard, the blood redish purple lipstick which I can’t get enough of it. Illamasqua’s Katie is a lot more peachy toned and slightly lighter, whereas BB’s Nude Pink is more blue-toned.This formulation can provide up to four to five variations of the same shade depending on how lightly or intensely it is applied. Colour-intense and highly pigmented, use it to shade, brighten, enhance and define the shape of your face. Layer shades for customised radiance or wear individually to highlight cheekbones and add a flush of colour. The downside is that these shatter easily so they're not good for bringing out with you for touch-ups or travel.
