About this deal

Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly an all-boys school. Usui is not only the smartest guy in the school, but also the most popular guy when it comes to girls. I have no read the manga of maid sama yet, but saw the anime and fell in love with it and how their love always surrpasses with stuborness. Back at school, he reminds her that the deadline to apologize to students from Miyabigaoka High School for a fight is coming up but is told that she does not know what to do yet. Maid Sama has more colourful background characters, and the subplots are more interesting: there's school events, Maid Cafe events, lots of trips out of school, tension because of Misaki's secret, family dramas, etc.

I liked the little bit of development at the end between the obvious soon-to-be relationship between Misaki and Takumi, and I would’ve liked more on that in the book instead of the… nothing else we got instead! At school, Takumi approaches a silent, deep-in-thought Misa, telling her it's been a long time since he saw her. They both have that element of an independent female lead and it seems that more so the male lead is going after the female lead but she's oblivious or doesn't care.As Misaki deals with the girls' interest in her relationship with Hinata, she also has to prevent Hinata and Takumi, both vying for her attention, from fighting. Naruse starts like "meeeh, I don't really care" but slowly changes into someone motivated, and I LOVE IT. As Misaki begins worrying, Takumi tells her that since she's a maid, she needs to put more effort into her work.

One of the most hilarious elements is the three bad boys (henceforth known as the idiot trio) who are tamed and become obsessed with the maid cafe; this is, in fact, one of the few chibi-izations of characters I approve of.

He suggests she tell them her feelings but she is apprehensive, telling him that while they are problematic she doesn't hate their enthusiasm. And maybe it’s an outlet for her to get her own back on men/boys after pretending to be subservient in her maid job…? This is one of the first mangas I read, and despite reading and watching several other series, it's still one of my favorites.
