About this deal

The last few years have seen massive jumps in terms of minifig detail, first dual molded arms and legs, now side and toe printing on legs, (the new Sam Wilson cap looks amazing and is what got me thinking about this) and all that’s really left to improve is the hands, either dual molded or printed, or both. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. This model acts as a tool to help understand the structural makeup of the palm and achieves this in very few pieces. That's the typical orientation, because the wider parts represents the longer fingers and the thumb (supposedly, first time I consciously think about it). Yeah, there maybe a few missed ones, but I'm pretty sure the numbers (of MF in that hand orientation on official lego images) don't lie.

Metal objects and fragile glass containers, for example, are often handled using pneumatic hands or grippers. If you keep your wrist straight, what you held would be perpendicular to your forearm, which is how minifigures hold items. This hand is modelled from the structure of a human hand, the palm being the highlight of this work.Add to that the fact that I've done it that way for the last 30-odd years and the other way round just looks wrong! I find that the design and articulation of human prosthesis very interesting, and would be very beautiful in LEGO form.

I used to be very precious about having my minifigs hands the 'right' way up, until I realised that when I turn the hands upside down, my soldiers can hold their rifles over their shoulders, which looks much better when marching in formation.Build the Robot Hand and investigate what pressure is needed to hold different objects without dropping or crushing them. They have been made with a variety of colours and have come with every minifigure from 1978 until 1989, and are still in usage from 1989 to the present time. Special hands, such as pirate hooks in several different colours and boxing gloves have also been made. The project has taken me about three months to develop and to perfect, and about 85% of the pieces were retrieved from the 42077 Rally Car set.

Minifigure hands have appeared in every set that contains a LEGO minifigure, which means it has appeared in almost every LEGO set since 1978, when it was created. I've always been confused as to what the "correct" orientation of a minifigure's hands is, particularly when holding utensils. The color of the plates really doesn't matter, and I think it would look better in a metallic silver. Only when you bend your wrist down (so that your forearm makes a straight line, more or less, with your thumb) does the bottom part become larger. but I've occasionally seen pictures, and sometimes official Lego ones, that have the hands turned the other way.

The photo above is what, to me, is the proper orientation of the minifigure hand when it is empty and holding basic utensils, but sometimes I use the hands the other way to get a different grip on a tool or to achieve a certain position. The pictures really don't do it justice; the articulation is pretty impressive and fun to mess with in person, and I think this model would be a great, eye-catching addition to anyone's desktop.
