About this deal

In terms of design, these headphone offer a strikingly similar layout. The biggest difference manifests itself in the Sony MDR-1AM2’s single input, while the Audio Technica MSR7B features dual inputs. Sony also offers a mic and remote on the 3.5 mm cable, while Audio Technica skips this feature. According to the frequency response curve, it is possible to calculate the width of the frequency range . The impulse response is able to show visually only the same or different polarity of the drivers and possible high-frequency resonance. El diseño a pesar de ser sencillo cuenta con la sensación de que se trata de un producto de calidad, nuevamente lo menciono, es lo esperado en un producto de este precio.

The frequency response in RAA is obtained through the reproduction and analysis of a special noise signal with the subsequent generation of an impulse response. The impulse response is displayed as is, without compensation of the frequency response for the microphone or smoothing. It is RAW data. The reduction in the frequency response of the microphone starts at 20 kHz .Do you like safekeeping your valuables away from harm? Good, because the Sony carry bag should assist you with just that by covering the MDR-1AM2 to safekeep it against any likely damage. MDR-1AM2: Verdict Possibly due to the fact that the lower treble is slightly recessed, the presence of instruments and vocals are set a distance away from the listener. Combined with its airy treble, this helps give the perception of a spacious sound although the soundstage is neither particularly wide nor deep. This is why I enjoy using the MDR-1AM2 for live performances as well. Compared to its predecessor, the MDR-1AM2 sounds markedly brighter, cleaner, and more detailed. The older MDR-1A has a warmer and darker sound, with fuller bass and less present mids and highs. It is impossible to say if that’s an outright improvement, but I found myself reaching for the MDR-1AM2 more than the MDR-1A because of its richer mid-range and more detailed sound. The whole entire front baffle comes right off from the earcup cavity. Carefully lift the front baffle out. Careful not to yank and snap the internal wiring.

Edit: I just realized I used the word "you/your" a lot when writing this, but I mean that towards anyone attempting the mod. Didn't want to sound too mean! I use this pair mostly with cassette walkmans, application where the elevated bass is a plus, as many walkmans and cassettes don't have a flatSporting a similar design naturally translates that the MDR-1AM2 would, like its predecessor feature a 40mm driver, however, the 40mm HD driver on the MDR-1AM2 is not the same one found on its predecessor but a newly developed one with an aluminium-coated liquid crystal polymer diaphragm, supporting a full range response from 3 Hz to 100 kHz similar to that of the MDR-1A. In terms of sharing some of the DNA from the MDR-Z1R, the MDR-1AM2 adopted the Fibonacci patterned grill from the signature series headphone, which was inspired by the Fibonacci sequence in nature, its equalised opening ensure minimal sound colouration and faithful reproduction of Hi-Res Audio sources. More present mids and a slightly forward sound characterize the MSR7B. But the mids here also showcase more contrast, giving the impression of grip. As a result, the mids on the MSR7B tend to jump out, with better isolation from the lows and highs. During the measurements, a special amplifier was used with zero total output impedance over the entire frequency range, which required no compensation for the amplitude response . The microphone is calibrated to 45 kHz with an appropriate frequency response correction. RAA measurements are made in 192 kHz / 24 bit mode.

Overall, the Audio Technica offers a more balanced sound profile, with ample extension in the lows and highs. The Sony, in contrast, skews a bit more fun-sounding, though its powerful bass can lead to an impression of a darker sound. Lows The result is a ever-so-slightly warm-ish neutral sound that is smooth up top. Very pleasing now though I do miss a bit of the bass impact and sense of "dynamism". I may try to experiment some more at a later time. First, this headphone is crazy sensitive. I have had many portable headphones and none are this sensitive. It almost behaves like an IEM in this regard --- on an iPhone I actually volume match it with my DD IEM and find the volume to be sufficient. On most desktop amps it will hiss. Again something that's much more common with IEMs than full-sized headphones. What I think SONY tried to do is make a sound signature that's somewhere in between what consumers like and what audiophiles like and Dentro de los aspectos positivos, se encuentra su ligereza y comodidad, los puedes usar durante mucho tiempo, sin que sientas molestia alguna; también el hecho de que suenan excelentes tanto con archivos de alta calidad, como con archivos de mediana calidad, lo que los hace bastante versátiles, y que no necesitas amplificador para usarlos, ya que cualquier reproductor de audio portátil o equipo celular tiene la potencia suficiente para alimentarlos.

Sparkling detail abounds in the midrange, with clear and contrasting notes defining the MDR-1AM2. Fidelity comes across as nearly impeccable here, giving the impression of truly meaty mids. High EndThe waveform of the impulse response depends on the Sony MDR-1AM2 frequency response and the damped resonances and reverberations and the reverberation in the stand chamber. The visual clarity of the parameters on the impulse response is very low. Visual determination of quality by impulse response was actual in "pre-computer" years. How’s that for specifications?! We’ve got an expansive frequency range of 3-100,000 hertz. While I honestly doubt anyone has the ears to take full benefit of those higher frequencies, the numbers still manage to impress me. Meanwhile, that low impedance of just 16 ohms will pair well with any low output device, from a phone or laptop to a portable high-res music player. Finally, sound pressure is a fairly standard 98 decibels – more than capable of adequate volume in normal listening situations. Low End The headphones sound amazing especially after burn-in. They're great for listening to music and surround content (plugged into your AV receiver) late nights without affecting your neighbors. Deep lows, clear mids, clean highs. They're the best sounding headphones I've owned.
