Sharp, insightful and full of complex history and connections, Mad, Bad & Dangerous to Know weaves a tapestry between today and the past, creating a story unlike any we’ve seen in modern YA fiction and cementing Samira Ahmed’s place as a must-read author.” The most moving chapter recounts the death of Fiennes's first wife and childhood sweetheart Ginny, who accompanied him on adventures and, in between, stoked the fires and raised an organic beef herd at their "dream home" on Exmoor. To an extent, the book is a hymn to her. "Without Ginny, there would be no point to my life," Fiennes writes early on, adding later: "I cannot believe that any human being has ever loved another as much as I loved and still love Ginny." A second wife, and late baby, are barely mentioned, and do not appear on the family tree at the end of the book. The Tories don’t like a country that is shaped by 13 years of their rule but prefer not to take responsibility. They have developed a keen reflex for diverting blame. The habit was embedded in the years of strife between the referendum vote for Brexit and its enactment after Boris Johnson’s landslide election victory. Mad, Bad & Dangerous to Know is led by Khayyam, a seventeen-year-old teen soon going on eighteen. She encompasses a range of identities; "living between spaces", as she puts it: French American; Indian American; Muslim American. In the book, her French, American and Muslim identities are most apparent, and Ahmed's own personal experiences shine through. Gebo DL: Locomotor diversity in prosimian primates. TL;DR: Focusing on revealing the story of a woman written out of history and led by an #ownvoices Muslim heroine, Mad, Bad & Dangerous' romantic plotline sometimes overshadows the actual women. However, it will appeal to readers who enjoy historical art mysteries, and fits perfectly into the rising genre of stories that bring the voices of forgotten women to light. Another interesting exploration of identity wrapped up in a unique story . . . [Ahmed] continues to delight.” Her writing is mesmerising. The switching of PoV is so easy to navigate. Not just because of the font difference or the timeline difference. Until now, we have found no evidence to support this hypothesis. Although loris venom can kill small prey, venom is not used to paralyse it, and we know of no instance of lorises caching prey [ 8]. Of hundreds of field hours and observations of prey capture events, lorises consume prey rapidly and effectively with powerful jaws and sharp teeth, and it does not seem that venom is required to carry this out. This does not rule out the possibility that they sequester secondary compounds from certain foods. Predators as target Everywhere Flynn went he carried a suitcase labeled “Flynn Enterprises,” which contained vodka, quinine, glasses, and a Bible. Dissolute and despondent, he relied more and more on alcohol. His famous face had become bloated and gray. But his new physique would, improbably, lead to a career renaissance in the mid-1950s as Flynn began playing drunken rogues, including his hero John Barrymore in Too Much, Too Soon. “I make more today being a shadow of my former self than I did when I was my former self,” he writes.
