About this deal

You do run into the problem of parameter lurch when moving between modes. These are not encoders and so their value is wherever you left it last. So, you might have turned up the Shape on the oscillator and then move to the filter to find that it leaps all the way open as soon as you touch the knob. This is the curse of a multi-function interface. Going Deeper The strength of this mini synth is that you can add to its onboard algorithms. There are slots for 16 additional oscillators and modulation effects, plus eight delays and reverbs. This makes it an incredibly versatile machine for synth-lovers and anyone who has a particular penchant for unusual external effects. Building tension

This all new effects unit has been developed by Fumio Mieda, developer of many famous legendary devices such as the Univibe. This new kind of effects unit differs from the usual “fuzz” or “distortion” pedal in many ways. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. Get creative. The Nu:Tekt TR-S works well with a variety of electronic instruments, so if you want to imbue that tube amp feel into another setup, feel free! SpecificationsIts versatile oscillator can produce both traditional analog-style waveforms (Sawtooth, Triangle, Square) and VPM waves, this means that it’s compatible with custom oscillators that were created for the Minilogue XD/ XD Module and Prologue. This oscillator’s voice can then be shaped by:

The HD-S reimagines the distortion pedal, with modulation and filter-like control over your sound. In addition to four control knobs on the panel, you can use three additional trimmer knobs to adjust the balance between each of the distortion circuits for sonic results as tame or as wild as you can imagine. Easy Assembly However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.

Effective immediately

Meet a build-it-yourself pedal that delivers the warmth and response of a tube amp. The Nu:Tekt TR-S uses a Nutube to deliver previously unachievable compression thanks to an exclusive patent-pending technology — meaning that you get the feel of a tube amp even when recording or playing through a transistor amp. The built-in ribbon controller is handy for demoing sounds and using the Korg NTS-1 with its super flexible arpeggiator (which features several patterns). You also have the option to control and synchronise the NTS-1 with external hardware, thanks to its SYNC IN, SYNC OUT, MIDI IN and USB ports. This means you can play the NTS-1 with full-size keys or link it up with something like the Volca Beats/ Drum/ Sample/ Keys/ FM to create a cool portable rig.

One analogue-modelled filter with a wide variety of modes (Low-pass 2/4-pole, High-pass 2/4-pole, Band-pass 2/4-pole and OPEN mode, all with resonance). Make new and as-yet undiscovered sounds – from traditional fuzz, to out-of-this world distorted sounds - by mixing the different distortion circuits. A wide range of sonic possibilities means you can use HD-S with guitars, bass guitars, synths, and more – anywhere you’re looking for new and unique sounds. The HD-S lets you freely combine the three different distortion circuits to produce a wide range of previously undiscovered sounds, from the traditional fuzz to out of this world distorted sounds and more. This wide range of traditional and all new sounds means the HD-S can be used not only with guitars but also with bass guitars, synthesizers and anytime new and unique sounds are required. The TR-S features an exclusive patent-pending circuit design, for compression that mimics the sag of a vacuum tube power amp — only possible with Nutube. Achieve this sought-after sound in any setting, even when playing through a transistor amp or recording into a DAW. The TR-S features four knobs on the panel, as well as three trimmer knobs hidden inside the top cover; allowing for even greater control over your sound. Go beyond the guitar and experience what the TR-S can do when you connect other instruments as well! Easy Assembly Meet a build-it-yourself pedal that delivers the warmth and response of a tube amp. The Nu:Tekt TR-S uses a Nutube to deliver previously unachievable compression thanks to exclusive patent- pending technology – meaning you get the feel of a tube amp even when recording or playing through a transistor amp. Fumio Mieda is a legend of the electronic music world. After creating the Uni-Vibe (most famously used by Jimi Hendrix), Mieda-san was employed by Korg founder Tsutomu Katoh in 1976 and has been responsible for countless innovations since. The NTS‑1 has a single monophonic digital oscillator, a multi-mode digital filter, a multi-mode envelope, three LFOs, three stereo effect processors, a multi-mode arpeggiator and a teeny tiny keyboard.

Whilst it may seem like one voice inspired by the digital portion of the Minilogue XD/ XD Module and Prologue’s oscillators on the surface, it’s significantly more than that. Assemble the Nutube-driven TR-S with ease, just like a model kit — no soldering required. All necessary tools are included, along with a circuit diagram in the owner's manual. Perfect for those who love building their own effect units with top-notch performance and sound. What is Nutube? The fun isn’t over after you finish building the NTS-1. The screws on the side panels are long enough to let you easily attach custom side panels. Once you start loading third-party algorithms with the Librarian tool, the NTS-1 gets exponentially more enjoyable. Among our favourite oscillator algorithms are the JP-BOOO supersaw from Eduardo Digital, and Groove from Sinevibes, which turns the NTS-1 into a seven-zone groovebox with synth and drums. Not all algorithms are made equal, though. Some are free, others are donationware, and many more are premium. Some aren’t even designed for the NTS-1 but for the Minilogue XD and Prologue. As the Librarian software warns when you load a new algorithm in, use them at your own risk. Created by legendary product visionary Fumio Mieda, the Nu:Tekt HD-S is a build-it-yourself pedal that combines three different distortion circuits to deliver never-before heard harmonic distortion. Create new and as-yet undiscovered sounds — from traditional fuzz, to out-of-this world distorted sounds — by mixing the different distortion circuits. A wide range of sonic possibilities means you can use HD-S with guitars, bass guitars, synths, and more. Anywhere you're looking for new and unique sounds!

The basic design layout is also loosely the same – each pedal features four control knobs, a bypass footswitch and LED light – though this time out Korg has equipped each unit with a small screen and three additional internal parameters. Even though synthesizers are musical instruments first and foremost, learning about them is easier and more intuitive if we can use our eyes to supplement our ears. Studying waveforms, frequency and time relationships, audio signals, and control voltages become clear and immediate if we can see how they change and interact, not just listen to what they’re doing. Seeing these signals come alive in full color as we patch and tweak gives our learning process a huge boost! If the idea of having to build the NTS-1 fills with you with terror, allow us to set your mind at rest. There’s no soldering involved – it’s basically just a case of screwing the thing together (you even get a mini screwdriver in the box). You might feel a touch of apprehension as you snap the bits of the chassis apart (they come supplied as one board), but it’s nothing to have nightmares about. You should be done in well under an hour. One of the hallmarks of the Nu:Tekt series is that they’re assembled by you! The HD-S kit doesn’t require soldering, and the necessary tools are included – making it easy to have the enjoyment and satisfaction of creating your own sound, from scratch. The power of three Out-of-the-box the oscillator can generate virtual analogue Sawtooth, Triangle and Square waves and VPM waveforms. Variable Phase Modulation (VPM) is Korg's take on FM synthesis found originally in the Prophecy and Z1. In the Prologue the VPM oscillator has 16 types whereas here we appear to have the one carrier/modulator algorithm. It starts with a really throaty sound and then clangs its way to crisper tones as you dial in the overtones. And then there's the last oscillator type which is the Custom/User Multi-Engine Oscillator/Effect engine widget, which we'll come to later.
