The new Evolution Aqua evoUV deliver a more efficient and more economical performance than before thanks to their new design. The TMC Pro Pond UV 110 watt uses fused quartz glass sleeves which ensure that germicidal lamps are able to reach their optimum ‘burn temperature’ where the highest amount of UVc radiation is emitted. Also facilitates simple lamp replacement by keeping lamp separate from the pond water.

Solution 1: A clean plastic spaghetti strainer (found at a local store) can be used to contain a tank bully within the aquarium for several hours until the new arrival adjusts to its surroundings. Just float the perforated plastic basket in the aquarium. Net the tank bully and place in the floating basket for approximately four hours while the new arrival adjusts to your aquarium. Never place the new arrival in this basket; the new specimen must get familiar with your aquarium. By placing the tank bully in a perforated basket, you’ll reduce the stress on the new arrival. The evoUV is simple to install, with universal mounting plates allowing you to fix the unit horizontally or vertically, or at any angle you choose. How the evoUV works The evo30 and evo55 units are supplied with 1½” stepped hosetails. This allows easy installation with flexible hose. You can also install the evoUV to hard pipe, using standard 11/2" BSP threaded male connectors, which are available from your Evolution Aqua dealer. The evo110 can be fitted to hard pipe using standard 2" BSP connectors. These are not supplied with the evo110. Be patient – never rush the acclimation procedure. The total acclimation time for your new arrival should take no longer than two hours.The evoUV range of clarifiers have been designed to clear green water which is caused by single celled green algae and prevent it from returning. They will work alongside many different filtration systems but when used alongside Evolution Aqua’s pond filtration systems, the evoUV will help to deliver crystal clear and healthy pond water. Exclusive features, as mentioned above include a 316 stainless steel housing that allows for 360° rotation of the inlet and outlet unions for ease of installation. Another key exclusive feature not commonly found in similar units is the inclusion of unions at each end of the stainless steel housing to facilitate cleaning of the quartz tube, should it be necessary. It has been long known that ultraviolet lamps at a wavelength of 254 nanometers, or 2537 Angstrom, have high bactericidal, virucidal and algicidal properties. Type C ultraviolet eradicates germs by aggressively disrupting the cell metabolisms leading to their destruction. These lamps should not be mistaken for ozone producing lamps, which operate at different wavelengths. Ultraviolet radiation is measured in micro watts/second/cm2. The acclimation process is complete when equilibrium is reached, where the temporary container housing new arrivals shares the same water chemistry as your aquarium, and your new arrival appears adjusted to these conditions. Since different species have varying levels of tolerance, different methodologies are required to control the rate of change experienced during the acclimation process. All animals that we import can take 3 to 4 days to arrive with us from abroad so a 24 to 48 hour travel time with us shouldnt be an issue

In some instances, a new tank mate will be chased and harassed by one or all of your existing tank mates.
