About this deal

Press and hold the MENU and VIEW buttons simultaneously and then connect the USB plug from the Fighting Commander OCTA to the USB port of your computer while continuing to hold the MENU and VIEW buttons. There are four buttons for directional movement and the up button is larger and located on the bottom.

It disables the buttons along the top edge of the controller, which includes the menu/pause button. This feature is important for tournament play, as accidentally pausing the game can cause you to forfeit the round based on tournamentrules. Sometimes the best controller is the one you already have. Fighting games are designed with console controllers in mind, so you don't have to buy a different controller if you don't need to. Besides, many top fighting game players worldwide use traditional controllers like the PS4 and Xbox One. You might think that 8BitDo's take on the classic SNES controller would be a bad fit for fighting games, but that's not the case. Instead, the SN30 Pro (and its Super Famicon-inspired SF30 equivalent) are superb for beat-downs, thanks mainly to an excellent D-Pad. In many cases, players prefer a button layout that has six front facing buttons on the right side (three on top, three on bottom). It is designed for you to easily take the controller anywhere, from pro events to local tournaments, to casual play at your friend’shouse.Damien has over a decade of professional writing experience under his belt, as well as a repulsively hairy belly. Rumours that he turned down a role in The Hobbit to work on Nintendo Life are, to the best of our knowledge, completely and utterly unfounded. And, of course, it would be nice if you can hold the controller for long periods of time without your hands cramping up. So ergonomics are also gonna’ be important. Hardware Review: The PowerA Fusion FightPad Is Great For Retro, But Ironically Not So Good For Fighters The six action buttons are perfect for fighting games, and the Sega Saturn style dpad is great for precision movement. The bottom is a nonslip material to keep the controller from moving around too much in your lap or on your desktop.

If you enjoy traditional controllers for your fighting games, PowerA has an interesting option for you in their PowerA Fusion Wired Fightpad. well, THAT'S a shame... definitely ome of those that really experienced a TON of fighting games on the Saturn

Design

So, we've made mention of three prominent styles of controllers for fighting games, but which should you choose? I recently got a Hori Hayabusa and I love it. I also have a SN30 pro but I love me a good 6 button fight pad. This unfortunately hasn't sold me, although I love the Saturn feel. M30 seems a better overall proposal. And it makes sense… a lot of gamers play on PC and started with what they had… a mouse and a keyboard.

No, it does not require Razer Synapse for any additional customization or navigation. Those customizations can be made with switches located on the controller itself. Currently, no. The Razer Kitsune adheres to the rules of Street Fighter 6 as part of our partnership with Capcom. This means that pressing Left and Right simultaneously will result in a neutral input, as will Up andDown. I have a bluetooth 8bitdo M30 i use for my Switch, PC, & Sega Genesis and i couldn't be happier. I highly recommend it and would give it a 9 out of 10.

And for optimal connectivity, these are wired USB controllers.. something that every single controller on this list should have. We wouldn’t call ourselves experts in fighting games, and you won’t see us competing in any tournaments anytime soon. We’ve covered some of the classics here on RetroDodo: Best Street Fighter Games, Best Mortal Kombat Games, Best Anime Fighting Games. The center column still has the central PS4 components. The share and options buttons are round and circular. There’s a touchpad, which looks small, but is actually about the same size as the original. Razer moved the PS button up to just below the touchpad because the Raion does not have an internal speaker. Below that, there are a pair of buttons – one mutes your mic, the other is one-button volume control. Press together, they also enable tournament mode, which turns off the menu or system-level buttons. This fighting game controller’s face buttons are designed slightly larger than the industry standard, which means there’s less chance of you missing an input because they’re easier tohit. The pro controllers will work with supported PlayStation ® 4 games on the PlayStation ® 5. They will not work with new PS5™ games.

I will admit I had a bit of an embarrassing moment as I didn’t realize the shoulder button layout was different until I was deep into a few matches of Mortal Kombat 11. I kept trying to execute a Fatal Blow by pressing L2 + R2 simultaneously with no success, and was certain that there was something wrong with the controller. It’s not until I realized the unique layout was intentional, allowing me to perform this ability with just my right hand. The original PlayStation controller is a lovely blast from the past. Even though there are hundreds of modern controllers, sometimes it's better to have a simple and classic controller in your hands. Luffy, a fighting e-sports professional, won the 2014 EVO Grand Finals with a PS1 controller. He's living proof that you can win with any controller. They even sell a left-handed model at no extra cost… if you’re one of those weirdos. Mechanical Keyboards Another copy from Xbox controller I bet. Those D-pads are horrid. I had those on xbox 360 controllers. MS learned their lesson by not releasing such crappy D-pad.. other studios should take note on that. This is analog "d-pad". You can't play with that thing. You won't be able feel the D-pad as you should when you perform a special skill or super skill. Such a pitty. Don't buy it guys. Otherwise you're supporting it. Let them come up with a decent controller with everything good on and not half done In fact, the Sega controllers are some of the best first party offerings for fighting games, so it makes sense why 8BitDo has their own Sega style controller (which was also a candidate for this list).
