Although I feel now that I know exactly what I'm getting from this author, I still look forward to her yearly releases. I admit I bought the book because of the intriguing cover and because Martina seems to be a famous author, so I gave her a shot.

Phillip’s mother has always backed Phillip which has not been helpful to his behavior or especially to anyone else and their mental wellbeing. It ended not as how I thought it would, but it certainly was gritty and hard hitting and the constant undercurrent of the importance of family was evidently clear. It's gritty, and emotional, and everything you think is going to happen in a Martina Cole novel DOESNT!Read this book in a couple of days - very short chapters - I love that in a book as it means I can pick it up and read a chapter whenever I have a spare couple of mins. There were some evil characters as always but such is life 🤷🏼‍♀️ this was 600 hundred pages of book and it could have gone for another 600 for me.

This might also be because I think that Declan, one of the characters that seems to be Michael's right hand man, is behind the revenge.
