I wanted to love this book and I certainly cried for little Richard, the 5 year old boy taken away from the beautiful childhood which was all he knew then, and then the little boy who was amused almost daily for 10 years. This is the story of upper-crust do-gooders who did bad: dreaming of Empire, they sent the children of the poor to a world without love. Before the agent can comprehend what's happening, part of the hangar roof is suddenly blown off, and he's yanked into the sky himself for his failure to erase her memory.
