We are therefore in the presence of an 11.1.4 channel home theater system, with truly wireless surround speakers. These speakers are equipped with a battery offering up to ten hours of autonomy. The amplification totals 1,170 watts of power: 650 watts for the soundbar, 300 watts for the subwoofer and 110 watts for each of the surround speakers. The JBL Bar 1300 is a genuine 11.1.4 channel home theater system with a total amplification power of 1,170 watts, with 650 watts to power the soundbar’s 15 drivers. The big feature to look out for if it's a cinematic sound experience that you're after, is Dolby Atmos. This is a form of 3D audio (also sometimes referred to as spatial audio) that basically tries to fill your room with sound and place sound effects precisely within this three-dimensional soundstage. The Bar 1300X does not only come with a lot of channels. JBL also added their own MultiBeam technology. This promises to offer not only precise 3D sound but a full 360 immersion bubble like no other. This technology is nothing new, as we experienced it in other JBL units before. But surely it will be interesting to see how this can perform with some equally impressive hardware.

And we think we found the reason for this. You see, by default the system is using, what JBL calls, Smart mode. This mode is using EQ settings and JBL Surround Sound for rich sound effects. But this is not ideal for music at all. As a result audio loses a lot of its resolution as the soundbar tries to create a three dimensional soundstage out of stereo music. With the inclusion of three HDMI ports this unit can support a wide variety of sources at the same time. This means you will not have to rely on your TV to pass-through all signals. The JBL Bar 1300 is undeniably excellent thanks to its combination of quality speakers, powerful amplification, and weighty subwoofer. The combination of identical drivers and auto-cal feature produces a coherent and balanced delivery with seamless steering of effects around the room. Streaming Max Richter’s Tranquility II and III from SLEEP: Tranquility Base, the pipe organ and keyboards had a smooth and natural presentation that was easy on the ears, and the system’s subwoofer did an excellent job of reproducing the lowest organ notes. The vocals soared above all of this in an impressive way, with the JBL soundbar creating an almost cathedral-like sense of space. So, if you’re looking for a sound system for movies and movies only, and you tend to do your watching solo or with one other person, the 1300X is one you might want to audition despite its shortcomings. Ponorte sa do 3D zvuku v kino kvalite. S dvomi nahor smerujúcimi meničmi v hlavnej jednotke a dvomi ďalšími v odnímateľných reproduktoroch, JBL Bar 1300 prináša skutočný Dolby Atmos® a DTS:X spolu s MultiBeam™ pre vylepšený 3D priestorový zvuk. Skutočný priestorový zvuk s odnímateľnými priestorovými reproduktormi

The surround speakers feature a full-range driver and a tweeter for the rear surround effects, another full-range driver for the rear vertical effects and two passive radiators for more bass. Despite their small size (20.2 x 6 x 13.9cm), the JBL Bar 1300’s surround speakers are equipped with three drivers and two passive radiators. Twice as powerful as the Samsung model, the JBL Bar 1300 is unrivaled in its ability to plunge users in the heart of the action. We’re happy to forgive its lesser vertical range, as its energy and vitality work wonders. The Samsung HW-Q990B has the advantage regarding connectivity as it allows a wireless WiFi connection with Samsung TVs, with Dolby Atmos support, an exclusive feature of the Korean manufacturer. JBL Bar 1300: who is it for? The wireless subwoofer that comes with the Bar 1300X isn’t dainty, it won’t fit under the sofa, and it’s going to dominate any corner you put it in. But that’s the price you pay for the sort of bone-crunching bass this big box cranks out.You can, to some minor degree, compensate for these sonic shortcomings by using the EQ built into the JBL One app, but it’s simply not flexible enough to really get the job done. Maybe a five- or ten-band graphic EQ could help even out the sound, but JBL only offers a three-band EQ with bass, mid, and treble, and the bands aren’t centered on frequencies that need help the most. As for its weaknesses the soundbar cannot pass-through 4K@120Hz signals as it is missing true HDMI 2.1 ports. If you have high ceiling then surely you are not going to get the kind of Atmos effects the soundbar can produce. Max volume may be an issue if you like to push it to the limit while its price will surely make a lot of people think twice before pulling the trigger. Wi-Fi support is provided, and there’s the ability to browse music platforms through the new JBL One app. Open it and you’ll find it’s home to fully customisable settings that allows the user to personalise their listening experience. The Bar 1300 also has voice assistant support from Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa, and supports AirPlay 2, Alexa MRM, and built-in Chromecast. There’s access to online music-streaming platforms too. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI eARC with Dolby Vision passthrough, and more. Plus, the JBL Bar 1300 soundbar is compatible with the JBL One app for EQ setting changes and more tweaks. Further connectivity is supplied via AirPlay 2, Alexa MRM and Chromecast built-in so users can listen to music and podcasts in high definition, and linking the Bar 1300 to a voice assistant enabled device grants access to Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri for hands free control.

The display can show you various functions like volume control, input selection and sound adjustments among others. We definitely like that JBL used a full functions display instead of LED lights. As it is much easier this way to know what the soundbar is doing. The display can show up to 4-5 characters and uses a scrolling motion for showing longer words. As for the bass, what can we say about this 12″ monster that can make it real justice? Obviously there are dedicated subwoofers in the market that can do far better. But for a soundbar subwoofer the 12″ variant we get here is one of a kind. The JBL Bar 1300 is an impressive flagship model from the brand, significantly upping the ante compared to the earlier Bar 9.1 while also offering a viable alternative to competitors like LG and Samsung when it comes to fully immersive Dolby Atmos and DTS:X wireless soundbar systems. Unusually for rear speakers, the detachable units you get with the JBL Bar 1300 lie flat, retaining the 60mm height of the soundbar, rather than standing on their ends. This is an attractive approach if you ’ re putting the rears on a shelf or bit of furniture, though the flat but deep profile could be a bit problematic if you want to hang the rears on your wall. This was confirmed by playing some simple stereo material, and again it leapt out of the rears and upfiring drivers. We confess this was beguilingly effective with stereo music, and a room-filling rendition of the first Georgia Fair album/EP was one of the first warm-ups we enjoyed on the Bar 1300. Once started, we had no inclination to stop it, so rich were the brushstrokes, so enveloping the sound, despite us knowing the surround effect was being faked. The JBL Bar 1300 soundbar also features WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. WiFi opens the doors to wireless audio streaming via AirPlay, Alexa Multiroom Music (MRM) and Chromecast protocols from any compatible audio source. Vikram Kher, Vice President of Lifestyle at HARMAN India said, “ Our all-new JBL BAR 1300 is designed to bring the magic of a theater right to your home with its exceptional sound. It delivers every distinct sound, from the slightest footstep to the most entertaining music played in movies. The BAR 1300 promises to take your movie nights and music sessions to a whole new level, providing you with an extraordinary audio journey like never before.“

One problem most soundbars have is the proximity of their front channels but the JBL one had good separation and channel shifting. Panning effects were very distinct and impressive with projectiles flying in front of us. Depth was also good with sound sources appearing in different distances from our viewing position. You can also turn off the Smart Mode, an EQ profile intended to enhance sound effects (if you can remember how; more on that in a bit). The simple fact is that no matter what you do to tweak the 1300X, music never sounds quite right, and it’s inconsistent in its weirdness.Bluetooth profil: Hlavný bar - A2DP 1.2 a AVRCP 1.5, odnímateľný priestorový reproduktor - A2DP 1.3 a AVRCP 1.6 In Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the lateral and vertical effects provided a great sense of immersion with convincing 3D effects. On the beaches of Normandy ( Saving Private Ryan) and in the Austrian glades of Vindobona ( Gladiator), projectiles flew from all sides of the room with great realism. The subwoofer was responsive and showed no signs of saturation, even at high volume. Dialogue benefited from the Pure Voice technology, which preserved clarity and intelligibility. The JBL Bar 1300’s compatibility with DTS:X ensured optimal versatility with all 4K Blu-ray movies and video streaming services. Both of the JBL Bar 1300’s surround speakers can be used as individual Bluetooth speakers, providing up to 10 hours of autonomy. Granted, the sub is tuned more for movies than music, which is something we’ll dive deeper into in a bit. But if what matters to you most when shopping for a subwoofer is bass that goes “BOOM,” there’s a lot to love about this one. HDMI inputs galore
